Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju inaugurated 'Lok Samvardhan Parv' in New Delhi on Thursday.
''Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will hold a meeting with the floor leaders of political parties in both the Houses of the Parliament, ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament,'' the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said on Tuesday.
Chairman-CEC, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Tashi Gyalson, Advisor to Lt Governor, UT Ladakh, Dr Pawan Kotwal and Vice Chancellor Prof Rajesh Ranjan were among those present on the occasion.
For the first three days of the session from 24th June, only Lok Sabha will sit for oath and affirmation of its newly elected members. On the third day, on the 26th June, the new Lok Sabha Speaker will be elected.
Kiren Rijiju informed that the government is planning to allow elite athletes to resume their training in order to keep them ready for future competitions.
The minister also stated that it is high time people expand their knowledge about sports other than cricket which can, in turn, help India become a sporting powerhouse.
Rijiju said athletes who will be initially allowed to train will be those who have qualified for the Tokyo Olympics or are slated to play qualification tournaments.
Rijiju stressed on the need for a robust setup of football federations at the state and the district level to realise this dream.
Rijiju was speaking on an online knowledge enhancement session of the table tennis coaches.
