Fresh row at JU as students’ union holds memorial for slain Maoist leaders

A fresh controversy has erupted at Jadavpur University after the Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF), a Maoist-leaning students’ outfit, allegedly observed a symbolic “memorial event” for slain CPI (Maoist) leaders during its sixth state conference held at the university’s Vivekananda Hall on Sunday.

Seminar explores the relevance of Bengali folk traditions

The Tollygunge Academy of Folklore organised its annual two-day international seminar and convocation on 29 and 30 March. Hosted at the Jadavpur University, the theme of this year's seminar focused on 'Diversity of forms and customs in Bengali folk tradition'.

Crisis on campus

As an alumnus of Jadavpur University and currently an Assistant Professor at Bidhan Chandra College, Asansol, I find myself increasingly disturbed by the recent turmoil on campus.
