The intelligence-based operation, conducted between May 25 and 26, was launched following specific and actionable inputs provided by ATS Gujarat regarding suspected narcotics trafficking through the maritime route.
The exercise conducted on 14-15 November, included participation of local Search and Rescue Board (SAR) stakeholders and resource agencies of Odisha, viz., OSDMA, District Administration Officials, Ports, Customs, Indian Navy, Marine Police, Odisha Police, CISF, Departmental of Fisheries, Forest Department and District Medical Department.
The meeting focused on enhancing inter-agency coordination and collaboration among stakeholders to strengthen India’s overall SAR framework.
The contract for design and construction of 14 FPVs was concluded on 24 Jan 2024 with MDL.
