DRI seizes 24.4 kg gold worth Rs 14 crore, arrests 8 from near Bangladesh border

The gold has been seized and three passengers have been placed under arrest under the Customs Act. Further investigation is being carried out.
According to Joint Commissioner of Customs, Praveen Kumar Bali, the Indian passenger, who arrived at IGI airport Terminal-3 from Riyadh on flight number XY-329.
During the search of their baggage, gold strips weighing about 3 Kg and valued at Rs. 1.33 Cr found concealed in the outer lining of their trolley suitcases. The said gold was seized under Customs Act and both the passengers were arrested by Customs Officials.
