Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday directed collectors of 17 districts to remain vigilant and prepared to handle any emergencies arising from heavy rainfall triggered by a fresh low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, cautioning that the downpour could cause flash floods in urban and other low-lying areas of their districts.

Over 1000 people dead due to floods in Pakistan

Pakistan's National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reported that at least 1,006 people have died and 3.02 million have been rescued across Pakistan amid severe rains and flash floods since June 26, The Express Tribune reported.

Institutional integrity

Floods have ravaged the states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand and many more. From unusual rain patterns, upstream dam releases, to sheer heavy monsoon ~ the flooding and the accompanying devastation have been back-breaking for so many citizens.
