On Saturday, Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Stamps and Court Registration Fees, announced that he will flag off the Vande Bharat Express from Varanasi station.
The ceremony, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, highlighted the state’s growing role in indigenous defence manufacturing.
Highlighting the role of Brahmos during the hostilities with Pakistan in May, Singh said Brahmos demonstrated that it has moved far beyond a trial and has become the greatest practical proof of national security.
Singh also flagged off the trucks displaying the first batch of locally manufactured BrahMos missiles. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak accompanied the Defence Minister.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, raised the issue of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off Rajasthan's first Vande Bharat Express train on April 12 through video conferencing. The inaugural train will run between Jaipur and Delhi Cantonment railway station.
The Vande Bharat train will take 8:30 hours to reach Tirupati whereas other trains take over 11 hours to cover the distance between Secunderabad and Tirupati.
