The arrested drug smugglers have been identified as Akashdeep Singh, 22, and Akash alias Mota, 19, both residents of Cheema Kalan in Tarn Taran; and Sandeep Singh, 30, a resident of Kotli Vasawa Singh in Tarn Taran.
Continuing its war on drugs, 'Yudh Nashian Virudh', aimed at eradicating drug menace from state, the Punjab Police conducted raids at 501 locations on Thursday leading to the arrest of 75 drug smugglers after registration of 53 first information reports (FIRs) across the state.
Police teams recovered 2.5 kg heroin and over three quintals of poppy husk, narcotics, pharma drugs and huge quantity of illicit liquor and lahan (raw material used to make liquor) during the statewide operation.
