Controversial Dera Sacha Sauda sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving a 20-year jail sentence for raping two of his disciples, was granted furlough on Wednesday for 21 days by the Haryana government.
This is the second parole for the Dera chief this year. He was earlier granted parole in January for 40 days. As Ram Rahim has not been allowed by the court to visit his ashram in Sirsa
Gurmeet Ram Rahim walked out of the Sunaria Jail in Rohtak (Haryana) on Saturday after he was granted 40 days parole on Friday.
Notably, the Dera chief was also granted parole ahead of the Haryana panchayat election and Adampur Assembly bypoll. Rahim was granted parole for a month on June 17.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann says that no one will be allowed to disturb peace in the state.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim is currently out of Jail on 40-day parole, during which he hosted a virtual Satsang last week.
He is currently serving a life term for the murder of his manager in 2002 and was also convicted for the rape of two women in 2017.
A Panchkula court had earlier granted bail to Honeypreet Insan in the case of violence after Singh's sentence.
51-year-old Ram Rahim is currently lodged at the high-security Sunaria jail in Rohtak which is 250 kms from state capital Chandigarh.
