The minister’s direction came during a meeting with officers of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), BSES, and Delhi Jal Board in view of preparation for the upcoming holy month of Ramzan.

Under the campaign, members of women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) associated with partner NGOs of Delhi Jal Board visited four water treatment plants (WTPs) of the DJB.

Discussions were held on pragmatic ways to abate the pollution in the Yamuna that is found to increase after immersion of idols after the puja.
"We are working on a unique mix of natural and scientific methods to prevent sewage from falling into the Yamuna," said the Delhi Chief Minister.

DJB has advised residents of the area to keep sufficient water and also provided the options sending water tankers wherever the need arises.
