A six-member team from the CID carried out an hour-long search at the Ballygunge MLA's Bhabanipur residence and questioned Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay in relation to the case, police sources said.
The CID has been visiting several residences of TMC leaders in recent days, including the party's general secretary Abhishek Banerjee's Kalighat flat, as well as Beleghata MLA Kunal Ghosh.
Sources said the CID team is likely to hold discussions with the Secretary of the West Bengal Assembly regarding matters related to the investigation.
Dilip Ghosh claimed that Abhishek Banerjee had repeatedly ignored legal directives and is now seeking judicial protection only to avoid scrutiny.
