The holy mace was carried in a ceremonial procession from its abode at Dashnami Akhara near Lal Chowk by Mahant Deependra Giri, the custodian of the Chhari Mubarak.
'Chhari Mubarak' (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) accompanied by a group of Sadhus left Camp Panchtarni this morning for Holy Shrine of Amarnath on the occasion of Shravan Purnima and reached Holy Cave at 11 am after performing Pujan at 'Amar Ganga'.
After crossing the 14,800 ft Mahagunus Top, the Chhari Mubarak (holy mace of Lord Shiva) reached Panchtarni on Sunday on its way to the Amarnath Shrine where it will reach on Monday.
Custodian of the mace, Mahant Deependra Giri, said it would leave for Sheshnag on Saturday where prayers will be performed at the holy Sheshnag Lake.
These are important rituals prior to the main course of annual pilgrimage of Chhari-Mubarak (Holy Mace of Lord Shiva) Swami Amarnath.
A group of sadhus led by Mahant Deependra Giri carried the Holy Mace to the cave shrine from Srinagar.
Pujan was performed chanting Vedic hymns.
