Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that border fencing, strengthened maritime security and the Gujarat government's strong political will have brought about a significant transformation in the state's security landscape, resulting in the complete cessation of infiltration into Gujarat and cross-border smuggling.
In view of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Punjab Government has decided to depute 10 Cabinet Ministers to the border areas as a confidence-building measure.
A total of 1,531 cases of illegal mining and transportation were recorded in the border areas of Himachal Pradesh (HP) in 2024-25. These areas include Kangra's Mand, Indora, and Fatehpur; Nalagarh in Solan; Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur; and parts of Una district.
