The action was taken by the Bihar State Congress Disciplinary Committee on charges of repeatedly making statements against the party’s core principles, discipline, and organisational decorum, and for issuing undesirable and misleading remarks.
In a letter, the Bihar Congress advised party members to stay away from district tour programmes organised by “leaders involved in anti-party activities.”
All Congress MPs from Bihar, members of the Bihar Legislative Council, and senior leaders of the Bihar Congress were also present at the meeting.
They have alleged that the decision reflects vindictiveness and a conspiracy to suppress the voice of the opposition in a democracy.
