Considering the seriousness of the matter and after consultation with the All India Congress Committee’s Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru and the State Congress President Rajesh Ram, it was decided to expel both leaders from the primary membership of the Congress Party for six years.”

Last week, the Bihar Pradesh Congress leadership had accused Anand Madhab and other dissident leaders of misleading party workers and weakening the organisation. In a letter, the Bihar Congress had advised party members to stay away from district tour programmes organised by “leaders involved in anti-party activities.”

However, Anand Madhab, who was leading the dissident faction, had asserted that it was working to strengthen the organisation and claimed to be receiving strong support from party workers. He had also alleged that the current leadership has become apprehensive due to the support they are garnering.
