The engineering marvel the Atal Tunnel connects Manali with landlocked Lahaul-Spiti district.
The police official said the arrival of a total of 1.63 lakh vehicles was recorded in Manali before the inauguration of Atal Tunnel Rohtang in 2020.
Nadda and Thakur were also given a warm reception at the south portal of the Tunnel and at Sissu by people of Lahaul-Spiti district in the traditional manner.

“Atal tunnel Rohtang recorded the season's highest traffic of 3,950 vehicles on 13 March. The HP Police is working to ensure a memorable experience for tourists this summer season and to this end, ready to take on more vehicles,” he said.
He said that on Sunday, more than 5000 vehicles crossed the Atal Tunnel Rohtang from both ends, which is the highest traffic till date. He added that total inflow to Lahaul is registered as 2800 vehicles while total outflow from Lahaul remained 2650.
