Arun Dhumal, who continued to serve as the Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, shared his thoughts on the recently concluded India-Pakistan Asia Cup final, stating that the Men in Blue played outstanding cricket and demonstrated they are the best T20I side in the world.
Dhumal stated, "We are aiming for a March 22 start for the tournament. We are closely coordinating with government agencies and will first release the initial schedule for the entire tournament to be held in India."

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League was scheduled to commence on 29 March but was postponed indefinitely owing to the pandemic.
The BCCI gets Rs 440 crore annually from Vivo – the principal sponsor of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) – in a five-year deal that ends in 2022.
However, earlier on Friday, the BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal had informed that the board would continue its partnership with the Chinese company.
The treasurer further added that BCCI - the richest cricket body in the world - has always had a plethora of choices when it came to choosing sponsors.
Dhumal was also quick to point out that in case the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) fails to happen this year, the board may be forced to make a few changes to its existing plan.
The mega event which was originally scheduled to be held between March 29 and May 24 has been postponed "indefinitely".
Sourav Ganguly also hinted that the governing body may opt for pay cuts of its employees if the situation worsens or it completely fails to stage the IPL.
