The Monsoon Session opened with sharp political exchanges as the Samajwadi Party intensified its attack over alleged NEET irregularities and demanded stronger safeguards for competitive exams.
Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, addressing students and parents of the Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, said, "We are all fully with the youth and their parents in their campaign to save Jauhar University."
"The BJP's negative ideology is one of 'conflict'; not dialogue. The BJP has become synonymous with despair. It's not the BJP government--it's arrogance!" Akhilesh Yadav said.
Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling it a "party of thugs" and claiming that the people of the state will wipe it out in the 2027 Assembly elections.
"The BJP will first destroy those parties that consider them their ally. Therefore, we appeal to every citizen of our country to abandon all work and stop the SIR fraud," he cautioned the NDA alliance in a statement on Friday.
BJP state spokesperson Harish Srivastava made these remarks while targeting Akhilesh Yadav. He said that the opposition is completely frustrated and disappointed. The public's trust remains with the government.
The Samajwadi Party has decided to provide financial assistance of ₹2 lakh to the dependents of the deceased of the BLOs in the state.
He also pledged direct aid from the Samajwadi Party, adding, "We also pledge to give Rs 2 lakh assistance to the dependents of each deceased person."
“A conspiracy has been hatched through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to strike off millions of voters in Uttar Pradesh,” he claimed, adding that several million voters in West Bengal would also be denied their voting rights.
