Students from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Left-backed groups have filed complaints against each other.
While accusing each other of creating a ruckus in the meeting, both ABVP and the Left parties claimed that their members were injured.
As per the officials of the organisation, both of the newly elected office bearers would assume their responsibilities, for the forthcoming year, during the ABVP Delhi State Conference to be held on 4th February 2024 at JNU.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has initiated its membership campaign in various Delhi University colleges, according to a press release from the ABVP.
Arts Faculty Students Union (AFSU) of Jadavpur University took out a protest rally against the attack on students and teachers in JNU.
At least 28 people, including JNU Students' Union president Aishe Ghosh, were injured as chaos reigned on the campus for nearly two hours.
As per reports, some persons wearing masks who were alleged by the JNUSU to be the members of ABVP entered the campus in the evening around 6:50 pm and attacked students as well as faculty members.
According to the police, the activists were detained because they did not have any permission to carry out the rally.
'First of all we are not the students' wing of BJP, and we have always stood for students no matter which party leads the government,' said ABVP's state secretary Siddharth Yadav.
