Indian skipper Virat Kohli will lead the Men-in-Blue in the upcoming five-match One Day International (ODI)s series against West Indies starting on Sunday, 21st October. Virat Kohli, who was rested for the recently concluded Asia Cup 2018, is just one step away from breaking another Sachin Tendulkar record.
Currently, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar is the highest run-getter for India against West Indies. While Tendulkar has scored 1573 runs in 39 ODIs at an average of 52.73. The 29-year-old Indian captain has scored 1387 in 27 ODIs at an average of 60.30 with the help of nine fifties and four centuries. Virat Kohli is just 187 runs short of overtaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid is at the third spot on the list, with 1348 runs in 40 matches at an average of 52.73 with the help of three centuries and eight fifties. Sourav Ganguly is at the fourth spot with 1142 runs in 27 matches, followed by Mohammad Azharuddin.

Virat Kohli has played 211 One Day Internationals (ODI) matches for India and scored 9779 runs with the help of 35 centuries and 48 fifties at an average of 58.20. The stylish right-handed batsman has also played 62T20Is for India and scored 2102 runs at an average of 48.88.
