Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who is also considered as one of the fittest athletes in India, has turned vegan and feels the new diet has benefited him immensely.

Virat Kohli has reportedly given up the animal protein (meat) four months ago.

Now, the 29-year-old Indian captains’ diet includes protein shakes, vegetables, and soya. Virat Kohli was once an avid foodie who loved his biryani. The Delhi batsman has also given up on eggs and dairy products.

As per a report published in The Times of India, Virat Kohli’s transformation has been remarkable. After giving up on meat, Virat Kohli is not just in great shape and prime fitness physically, but it seems the diet has helped him mentally too.

“Kohli started this diet four months back and is feeling stronger as his digestive power has increased. He isn’t missing meat, eggs or dairy,” said the reports published in Times of India.

It is notable that Bollywood actress and Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma has also turned vegetarian around the same time.

Virat Kohli’s chance to turn vegan was planned well in advance.

“Two years ago when he was on a normal diet he had stated that he would go vegan if given a choice. He is now feeling stronger than before,” the report added.
