The star pacer of Indian women’s cricket team, Jhulan Goswami, is an inspiration for many. Goswami is the queen of many firsts in women’s cricket.

Jhulan was the first to score 1000 runs and take 150 wickets, then she became the highest wicket-taker and now she is the first and only female player to reach the mark of 200-wicket in women’s ODI cricket.

While talking to The Telegraph on Thursday, Jhulan said, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is 100 per cent right in expressing himself, when she was asked about his on-field aggression.

“Aggression is an individual thing. Virat is 100 per cent right in expressing himself, after all he is getting the results. So it doesn’t matter… There shouldn’t be so much talk about it,” Jhulan Goswami said.

“Nowadays everybody is inspired by Kohli’s attitude, his work ethic, his fitness… We always need an idol in front of us to follow. Earlier it used to be Sachin Tendulkar, nowadays it is Virat. The pressure under which the Indian men’s team plays, is a lesson for all of us. We always talk about that, learn from that,” Goswami added.

Goswami has been ruled out of on-going 5 match T20I series between India and South Africa, due to a heel injury.

Indian women’s cricket team led by Mithali Raj had won the three-match ODI series against Proteas women 2-1. The series was a part of the ICC Women’s Championship.

In the on-going T20 series, Indian women’s team led by Harmanpreet Kaur had taken the lead of 1-0.
