‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma, along with the Indian cricket team, will fly to Ireland after he cleared the ‘Yo-Yo’ fitness test on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma declared the news of his passing the fitness test on the photo-sharing application Instagram.

The 32-year-old cricketer also took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, and slammed his critics for doubting his ability. Rohit also took a dig at the media for the rumours that he had failed the test earlier.

 

“Dear… it’s no ones business how & where I spend my time. I’m entitled to have time off as long as I follow protocol.Let’s debate some real news shall we & to a few channels, I had just 1 chance to clear my yo-yo that was today. Verification before reporting is always a good idea,” Rohit wrote on Twitter.

On 15th June, skipper Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and other players, had cleared the Yo-Yo Test. Ambati Rayudu was the only player in India’s UK squad who failed the test and he was later replaced by all-rounder Suresh Raina.

Rohit didn’t undergo the test on 15th June due to his prior commitments and had sought exemption from the BCCI for the same. Saba Karim, BCCI GM (Cricket Operations) had told news agency PTI that it wasn’t mandatory for him to appear on Sunday (15th June) as he had taken permission in advance.

The Indian team will play two T20 Internationals with on June 27 and 29 and then fly to England for three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and five Test matches.
