Manushi Chhillar was crowned Miss World on Saturday (November 18) at Sanya, China. The 20-year-old beauty queen, who is still pursuing MBBS from a college near Sonipat has come a long way since her stint at her college beauty contest. She was first crowned Campus Princess 2017. Post that, she got her ticket to Femina Miss India 2017, which was again won by her. From shooting for her first commercial to her first campus Princess sache, Manushi has achieved a lot in a short span of time. Manushi started her career as a beauty queen from her college itself, when she contested in the Campus Princess contest and won the same. Apart from the Miss World title at the pageant at China, Chhillar also won the Beauty with Purpose award.

Chhillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at Sanya City Arena in China. Miss World 2016 winner Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle gave away the coveted crown to the winner.

Manushi had earlier shared this picture of herself from her first ever commercial shoot. She shared the picture on Instagram and wrote, “Experience is the hardest kind of teacher. It gives you the test first and the lesson afterward. Pictures from my first commercial shoot!”

She was pursuing MBBS when opportunity knocked on her door, and she went out to contesting at various platforms.

After winning the title of Miss World, Manushi, who hails from Haryana, thanked the Chief Minister and said – she would always be “forthcoming in lending support whenever and wherever it is required in making Haryana proud”.

“Haryana has always been a leader in notching achievements. I wish, Haryana makes rapid strides in all spheres. I have achieved a lot, but there is still a long way to go and a lot of preparation is needed. I promise that I will bring laurels to the state and the nation,” she added.
