Security force personnel killed two terrorists in an encounter in Pulwama on Friday morning, a day after they attacked the personal security officer (PSO) of a BJP leader.

Two weapons were recovered from the terrorists after the conclusion of the operation in Balhama Khunmoo which was on since Thursday following the weapon snatching bid.

Shesh Paul Vaid, DGP of Jammu-Kashmir, informed on Twitter that the two unidentified bodies have been recovered. He added a “boy with pistol” has been arrested by Kulgam police.

The terrorists had on Thursday tried to snatch the service rifle of constable Bilal Ahmad, the PSO of BJP leader Anwar Khan. The attempt was foiled by police personnel accompanying Khan.

During the chaos, Ahmad received a bullet injury. The Army immediately cordoned off the area and launched an operation to flush out the terrorists.

On Thursday, Vaid had tweeted that there were three terrorists involved in the attack on the BJP leader and his PSO.

A police spokesperson said that incriminating materials, including weapon and ammunition, have been recovered from the slain terrorists.
