LDF convenor denies connections with BJP, alleges Congress conspiracy

The Trinamool Congress in Assam on Monday accused the BJP-led state government of violating the model code of conduct and lodged a complaint with the Election Commission.
In a letter to the chief election commissioner, Assam TMC chief Ripun Bora highlighted the persistent presence of numerous hoardings throughout Assam displaying government advertisements prominently featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Sarma.
Bora asserted that the model code of conduct (MCC) enforced since the evening of March 16 should prohibit such promotional activities. He expressed concerns that the display of these advertisements could compromise the fairness of the electoral process in the state.

Urging swift action, Bora called on the chief election commissioner to instruct the state government to promptly remove all government advertisements featuring the prime minister and the chief minister to ensure compliance with electoral regulations.
It is noteworthy that the announcement for the Lok Sabha elections in Assam was made on March 16, with the MCC being imposed nationwide immediately after the elections.
