With investment proposals worth over Rs 27 lakh crore in the pocket, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to kick off the three-day Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit 2023 here on Friday to pave the way for the state to become a one trillion dollar economy.

Lucknow is beautifully decorated to welcome the guests of the GIS and G20. The entire city has turned into a fortress for the security of the participating national and international VVIPs.

Around 15 countries are the partners of this GIS. This shows the interest of these countries to invest in the state.

Officials here disclosed on Thursday that the PM will spend around 2 hours at the Global Investors Summit at Vrindavan Yojna on Friday morning. He will be at the venue from 10.30 am to 12.30 noon.

The PM will inaugurate the Global Trade Show and Invest UP 2.0 after reaching the venue at 10:30 am. He will visit the exhibition hall and there will also be a photo session of the PM with veteran entrepreneurs of the country and the world.

He will inaugurate the Global Investors Summit at 11 am and will address the summit from 11:40 am to 12:30 pm.

The valedictory function of the GIS will be attended by President Droupadi Murmu. Around 30 union ministers will also grace the occasion.

In the Investors Summit-2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the  Defence Corridor in UP. It is expected that in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the PM can again make a big announcement for UP.

By today, 500 more MoUs are expected to be signed, he said, adding that the total investments would generate 9 lakh additional employment in the state.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while talking to reporters here, said in the Global Investors Summit-2023, Uttar Pradesh will get good investment relative to its population and gross domestic product (GDP).

The chief minister claimed that the investment to be made in 25 sectors in the summit will create endless possibilities for employment to the youth of the state. The youth will not have to go to other places of the country for jobs or employment.

Meanwhile, adequate security arrangements have been made during the Global Investors Summit and the proposed G-20 event in the four police commissionerates of the state. For this, 24 IPS officers, 68 PPS and 5415 non-gazetted officers have been deployed.

According to ADG (Law & Order) Prashant Kumar, Global Investors Summit is to be organized in Lucknow from February 10 to 12. Apart from this, G-20 meetings are to be held in 11 phases from February 11 to August 27 in Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Apart from commandos, officers with an anti-drone system, 13 Company PAC and three Company Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been deployed in security.

While alerting the special operational units of the UP Police such as the Anti-Terrorist Squad, ADG said instructions have been given to take action by campaigning against dreaded criminals, sleeping modules and mafia elements.

He said to manage the security and traffic arrangements, an operational command control center has been set up for emergency situations. Drone cameras have also been installed for surveillance.

On the occasion, a GIS exhibition will be organized at the summit and it will be open to the general public on February 13-14. Invest UP CEO Abhishek Prakash informed that more than 500 stalls are being set up in the exhibition where domestic and foreign investors will present their products and technology.

A tent city has been set up at the Vrindavan Yojna for the luxury stay of the industrialists, investors and foreign delegates.

On the other hand, domestic and foreign investors, entrepreneurs and guests coming to the Global Investors Summit will be served UP and Indian traditional food along with dishes made of coarse grains or Millet. Jowar bajra roti, mustard greens, dishes made of kodo and buckwheat will also be served.
