The government on Wednesday, in an extreme measure, sealed the borders of the state of Rajasthan which shares over 1,000 km of border with Pakistan on its western side.

The action has been taken following the inputs that four activists of the Pakistan intelligence agency, ISI, have entered India through the border state, said a report.

Also, the borders of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have also been sealed after the authorities received inputs from the central intelligence agencies about the possibility of terror attacks, added the reports.

The vehicles coming from outside the states are being thoroughly checked as a precautionary measure while the Gujarat ATS has released the sketch of a suspected Afghan terrorist and sent it to police officers, investigative agencies and police stations.

“We have received an intelligence input about the movement of terrorists. We have also received a directive from the police headquarters in Bhopal following which intensive checking of those crossing the border of two states has been started,” SP Jhabua Vineet Jain said.

Meanwhile, the states are put on a high alert.

It is reported that the Intelligence Bureau of Gujarat has received inputs about terrorist movement in Gujarat and Udaipur and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan.

“Security has been beefed up in the border area following the Gujarat Police’s alert. CRPF and Armed Forces personnel have been deployed there. Orders have been issued to all police stations in areas adjacent to Sirohi to check vehicles and hotels. Here, five separate blocks have been erected along the Rajasthan-Gujarat border,” informed IG Udaipur Binita Thakur.

The agencies have also warned of attacks in Punjab, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh following which they have been put on high alert.
