Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018’ to be held in the first week of October in the hill state. The main event will be hosted at Maharana Pratap Sports College Stadium in Dehradun.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat disclosed this at the launch of website, destinationuttarakhand.in, and logo for the Investors summit in the state capital on Monday.

The Chief Minister said, “Destination Uttarakhand will provide a platform to investors from India and abroad. In the summit, investors, producers, manufacturers, policy makers and industrial organizations from around the world will participate. Investment in the state will provide employment opportunities to local youths in different areas.”

The event is likely to be hosted on 4-5 October, but all will depend on the date approved by the Prime Minister Office. The meet is likely to be scheduled according to date approved by the PMO. Uttarakhand was recently declared the top Himalayan states in ease of doing business.

By launching a single window system, lowest electricity rate among North Indian states, better law and order situation and big pool of skilled manpower, Uttarakhand is aiming to attract big investment through the investor’s meet.

Commissioner Industries Saujanya informed, “Twelve main areas have been selected for the investment. These include food processing, horticulture, herbal and aromatic, tourism, wellness and Ayush, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, sericulture and natural fiber, IT, renewable energy, biotechnology and film shooting.”
