The Pakistan Army on Wednesday opened fire at Indian posts in Poonch and Bhimber Gali sectors of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC), officials said.
Officials said that Indian pickets and forward posts came under attack at around 8.15 am. Indian troops retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides was going on when last reports came in.
The situation on the LoC has been volatile for past few months with continuous violation of the ceasefire agreement and shelling from the other side of the border by the Pakistani forces.

On Tuesday, a militant was gunned down as security forces thwarted an infiltration bid along the LoC in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
