Considered once a right hand man of Dr Farooq Abdullah, Senior National Conference Leader and District Kathua (Rural) President Romy Khajuria along other leaders have joined the BJP, giving a jolt to the National Conference (NC) before the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina accompanied by party General Secretary Vibodh Gupta and senior party leader Devender Singh Rana welcomed them into the partyfold at BJP headquarters here on Sunday.

Rana wrote on X; “Prominent political activist and Senior National Conference Leader Romy Khajuria District President Kathua Rural today severed his 35 year association with the party and joined ⁦@BJP4JnK⁩ alongwith his supporters reposing his faith in the policies of ⁦@BJP4India⁩”.

Welcoming the new entrants, Raina said the BJP has worked for the welfare of people irrespective of region and religion.

He recalled the names of party stalwarts like Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and others and said that the party has always served the people with nationalist feeling in heart. He said Praja Parishad, Jana Sangh and BJP activists have a long history of sacrifices for the welfare of people. He said that earlier, the people had to adopt the path of struggles to achieve their rights and had to take the bullets in their chests. He said, ”Now we have two AIIMS, ring roads, medical colleges, road networks, rail connectivity, border connectivity, and development due to the dedicated efforts of BJP activists led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Raina said that not only in Jammu, but also in Kashmir, people were holding the symbol of BJP in high esteem having faith in the Modi government.

He said PM Modi has united the whole nation, which has won the hearts of people from every corner.

Raina also said that opposition parties formed the INDIA alliance to stop Modi from doing people welfare works but their ill-alliance has failed now due to ever growing popularity of Modi.

He said that Khajuria is a senior politician who has experience of many decades of public working and the party believes that he will further the mission of BJP to serve the people and the nation and will leave no stone unturned to gather maximum votes and support for the saffron party in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
