Uttar Pradesh BJP MLA Surendra Singh, known for making controversial statements, once again stirred a row on Sunday, saying that Muslims who have “50 wives and 1,050 children” possess “animalistic tendency”.
In a video clip that has gone viral, the lawmaker is seen saying, “In the Muslim religion, you know that people keep 50 wives and give birth to 1050 children. This is not a tradition but an animalistic tendency” (sic).

Further on, Singh said that in 2024, India will be declared a “Hindu Rashtra”, when the RSS completes its 100 years.

The MLA termed West Bengal as ‘Lanka’ and said that half of West Bengal had been ‘destroyed’ and the remaining would be finished after the Assembly elections. Earlier, he had called Mamata Banerjee ‘Surpankha’.
