Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Adani fiasco and dubbed his reign as the “Silence Raj” for the latter’s reticence to address the issue although several crores of people were affected by the brutal sell off of the stocks of the Adani Group.
In a sharp attack on the Prime Minister, peppered with satirical jibes Rao today questioned the policies of the NDA government while replying to the debate on the Appropriation Bill in the state Assembly.

Criticising the Prime Minister’s speech in both Houses of the Parliament, Rao said: “The most disgusting speech by the Honourable Prime Minister of India. The country is in a very critical situation. Ten lakh crores for India is not a small thing; it is a big issue. So many crores of people are involved (affected).”

Quoting the speech of Modi on falling rupee as the Chief Minister of Gujarat he went on to point, “The worst ever fall of rupee (happened) in the period of Mr Modi.” He also said the target of “five trillion economy” is a joke; it is silly. It is very less. You must dare to dream”.

The Chief Minister wondered why the Prime Minister flagged off the Vande Bhart trains 14 times when there were far better trains like Shatabdi and Rajdhani while Union minister (G Kishan Reddy) dedicated a lift at the railway station to the nation.

He also slammed the Prime Minister for failing the country in providing water for irrigation and letting river water run into the sea and took a jibe at the BJP saying “You don’t need to be a Vishwaguru to do this a desh guru will be enough.”

The BJP has time and again termed the Prime Minister as Vishwa guru particularly in respect of the country foreign policy during the NDA regime. However, Rao dubbed the NDA as “No Data Available.”

He went on to question the Union government over its failure to conduct the Census till date. “Why Modi government not undertaking a census? What is the reason behind it? The process of census in India began way back in 1871. It is such an important input,” said the Chief Minister.

Speaking on the ban on BBC sought by BJP’s Ashwini Upadhyay in the Supreme Court, Rao said: “Such arrogance do you think BBC is Zee News; they fear something like your ED?”

Alleging discrimination against Telangana by the Union Government, Rao pointed out that not a single nursing college was allotted to Telangana in the Budget. He then appealed to the Prime Minister with folded hands to leave aside petty politics and stop discriminating against Telangana.
