Is Baijayant Jay Panda planning to join Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)? His reply to a tweet reflects his inclination towards the speculated move.

Panda was suggested by a Twitter user that he should join BJP, to which Panda replied: “I will give due consideration to your suggestion”.

His reply to the tweet comes a day after he resigned from Lok Sabha. Panda sent the resignation letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Baijayant Jay Panda had resigned from the Biju Janta Dal (BJD) on 28 May, months after he was suspended by the party on 24 January, 2018, for his alleged anti-party activities.

Panda had fallen out of grace of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik over the last three years.

Earlier, speculations were high that he may join the BJP given his proximity to several national-level party leaders and now, with his latest interaction on Twitter, it seems that there is some credence to the rumours.

As per the speculations, Panda is keen on joining the BJP, but has been kept ‘hanging’ as one section which dominates the BJP scene in Odisha does not want around another high-profile person like Panda.
