New Delhi, 8 August: The government is finally entering the social media, formally. It is setting up a New Media Wing to tell its success stories through platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting this evening, after evaluating its experience in utilising the social media on an experimental basis. The wing will be located in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Likely to cost R 22 crore during the 12th Plan period, it will be headed by a senior officer of Joint Secretary level. SNS
