Two weeks after Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb claimed that Internet and sophisticated satellite communication system existed in the days of Mahabharata, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Sunday drew comparisons between internet search engine Google and mythological character Narad Muni.

While speaking at an event organised by Vishwa Samvad Kendra, which is the media wing of the RSS, Rupani said that Google is the source of information just like Narad, because he knew everything happening in the world.
“This is relevant in today’s time that Narad was a man of information, who had information of the whole world. Collecting information was his dharma for the betterment of the humankind, and it is very much required,” said Vijay Rupani as per a The Indian Express news report.

While talking about the importance of neutral media in a democracy, Rupani said that media has the right to comment on the functioning of the government in a democracy but should do it in a “neutral and authentic” manner.
