Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaurav Gogoi on Monday challenged state Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to deny his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma’s multiple passports claim under oath on the Bhagavad Gita.
Speaking to reporters after addressing an election rally in Raha, Gogoi also asked CM Sharma whether he was hiding assets and business interests abroad.

Addressing a press conference, Congress Media and Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera stated that all the three passports are active and asked Himanta to explain how his wife could hold passports from two Muslim countries when, according to him, the Assam CM’s entire politics is allegedly based on hatred against the community.

However, Himanta categorically rejected the allegations, terming them “malicious, fabricated, and politically motivated lies”.
He also threatened to file criminal and civil defamation cases against Khera for making “reckless and defamatory statements.”
“I categorically reject every allegation made by him. These are malicious, fabricated, and politically motivated lies aimed at misleading the people of Assam,” CM Sarma said on X.
