Television actor Karan Oberoi, best known for playing Raghav in hit TV show Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, was arrested on Monday by the Mumbai police for allegedly raping and blackmailing a woman.
An FIR was registered at the Oshiwara police station in Mumbai under sections 376(rape) and 384(extortion) of the Indian Penal Code.
“Karan Oberoi not only raped the woman and filmed the act but also demanded money from her threatening to release the video if she did not pay up,” said the police quoting the FIR.

Oberoi began his career with Mahesh Bhatt’s Swabhimaan, where he played Bobby, and went on to star in shows like Saaya and Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin.
He was also part of pop band called Band of Boys, which was formed in 2001.
He was last seen in Amazon Prime Video’s web series Inside Edge.
