Television actor Disha Vakani, who’s popular for her role as Daya Jethalal Gada in the sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, will not return to the show anytime soon and just might quit the show for family reasons.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is considered one of the most popular sitcoms for more than a decade now and the latest from the TV industry is a shock for all the fans of the show.
One of the most lovable characters from the show, Daya, wife of Jethalal, which has not been featured on the show for quite a while, will have to wait a little longer to make its comeback as Disha might not return to the show after her maternity leave.

Disha was on a maternity leave from September 2017 and considering the fact that the actor has been essaying the role for more than a decade now, the makers didn’t replace Disha by a new actor as they proceeded with the show without her in a new storyline that explained her absence from the show.
But seems like the actor has a lot of things in her plate right now and that is why she just might not return to TMKOC.
According to the producer of the show Asit Kumar Modi, Disha will need to have take care of her young daughter and her return to the show is still in question.
“The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha’s baby is still very young, she needs her. We haven’t discussed about her return yet and there is no official confirmation on Disha quitting ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’,” Modi said.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah despite Disha’s absence didn’t suffer in terms of TRP and maintained its popularity. But for how long can the show go on without Daya Ben, who is one of the central characters of the show, is still to be seen.
Fans are now curiously waiting for the final verdict of Disha’s decision about her return and only time will tell how much the show will be affected by Disha’s exit.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah airs Monday–Friday on Sab TV at 8:30 pm.
