Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt has already created a huge anticipation among the audience. For a long time, rumours were doing the rounds that Sonam Kapoor will be essaying the role of a Bollywood actress Sanjay had dated back in the 1980s-90s.
It was rumoured that Sonam would be playing either Tina Munim or Madhuri Dixit in the film. However, in a statement to DNA, Sonam said, “I have a small but important part in the movie. It’s not what everyone is thinking. I am not playing an actress. I am not allowed to say anything about it. But it has been wonderful working with Rajkumar Hirani. He is one of the biggest reasons why I said yes to this film.”
She also revealed about her role, “My character is an amalgamation of a lot of things, and I’m not allowed to speak about it because of everything that’s attached to the film, but I was excited to play it.”

After a period of 11 years of their debut film Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor are set to reunite on-screen.
The film is helmed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Sanjay Dutt’s biopic also stars Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala, Karishma Tanna and Jim Sarbh.
Apart from this, Sonam is currently busy with Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga with dad Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, and will soon begin shooting for The Zoya Factor.
