Uri: The Surgical Strike starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam has marked its place being the years first film to mark 100 crores. Vicky Donor actress is riding in success as it is her second film to churn more than 100 crores after Kaabil in box office.

On Republic Day, Yami with co star Vicky Kaushal attended the parade at the Wagah parade to pay tribute to the martyr Indian soldiers and to be part of the celebration. The team of Uri also met the Indian president in Delhi for presenting such a heart wrenching film.

The BSF regiment in Amritsar upon her visit even gave her a token of appreciation and felicitated for remarkable performance and being a part of the film URI. Yami was truly touched with the kind gesture of the jawans attended the event and received the token of appreciation by the senior officers from BSF.

On Republic Day, the actress shared picture with actor and the crowd at Wagah Border and wrote, “The JOSH was unbeatable today for the Republic day celebrations at the Wagah Border, Attari. Thank you @bsf_india and everyone for such a surreal experience !! 💫😍”

Speaking about her felicitation, Yami said, “BSF is the first line of defence of our country and it gives me immense pride to have met them in person and be in their company. It was kind of them leaving me overwhelmed to have given me this love and to the team. Wherever we have traveled with the film, especially meeting the men who serve our country have showered us with a great deal of appreciation and love. They have been unanimously happy with the essay of those in armed forces and the incredible role they play in our society”.

Uri is based on the surgical strikes which were carried out by the Indian Army in November 2016. Besides Vicky Kaushal, the film also features Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and debutante Mohit Raina.
