Ajay Devgn’s fight against corruption has opened to a good response at the box office by minting over Rs 10-crore on the opening day.

Raid, a film based on one man’s stand against corruption, opened to strong reviews and positive word of mouth from fans and critics alike, which has provided the film with good numbers at the ticket counter.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Raid’s opening day figures are at par with Pad Man and the film is the 3rd best opener of 2018.

The film’s business is expected to grow on the weekends, courtesy-stellar performances by the lead actors.

Also, Raid is so far one of the three films of 2018, which has an opening figure in double digits — the other two being Padmaavat and Akshay Kumar’s Pad Man.

Raid featuring Devgn in the lead role also has Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in pivotal roles.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid was released worldwide on March 16.
