Designated parking slots have been made near Gate no. 1 and 2 for parking of sufficient vehicles of the visitors and the students of the academic session 2018-19, he said.

Free shuttle bus service and e-rickshaw facility will be available from these parking slots on nominal charges.

According to the vehicle free policy, blowing of horns, parking in no vehicle zone, use of vehicles without silencers will be considered as an offence. There is also a provision for towing away vehicles from the unauthorised parking. For the convenience of the visitors and the students, frequency of five shuttle bus service will be further enhanced, Chadha said.

It was further informed that there is also a proposal to provide Cycle Dock Stations in the near future in PU Campus as a means of public transport. The chief of university security (CUS), PU, Prof Ashwani Koul informed that 55 cameras on and around gates will be installed.

Taxis and auto rickshaws will also not be allowed for the academic areas. Pick and drop points for taxis will be demarcated for PU residents and hostellers.
