STATESMAN NEWS SERVICE
New Delhi, 9 August
The Delhi Chief Minister, Mrs Sheila Dikshit, today condoled the death of Santosh Koli, who died after battling injuries sustained in a road accident. She was an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and a close aide of Mr Arvind Kejriwal.
In a letter sent to Mr Kejriwal, Mrs Dikshit conveyed her “heartfelt condolences” to the family of Koli over her “sad demise”.
When Koli along with a party colleague Kuldeep was going to party office on 30 June, she had sustained severe brain injury when a car hit her motorbike from behind in Kaushambi area.
Soon after the accident, AAP had alleged Koli was getting threatening calls for contesting polls and hinted a conspiracy behind the accident.
Kejriwal had alleged that Delhi Police had done nothing to nab the culprits and failed to even trace the car which caused the accident.
Koli (28), a member of AAP’s core committee, was to contest the upcoming Delhi assembly elections from Seemapuri constituency.
AAP has been targeting Congress and Mrs Dikshit for hike in power and water tariff in the city.
After battling for life for more than a month, Koli died in a Gurgaon hospital on Wednesday.
