AAP councilors protest against cancellation of mayoral polls
The party may move the court after taking legal opinion on the matter, said AAP leader Durgesh Pathak.
Even as Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) two members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) are in trouble for manhandling Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash, party’s Punjab unit on Thursday said the incident is a conspiracy hatched by the Narendra Modi government to throw the AAP government out of power.
In a joint statement, AAP Punjab president Bhagwant Mann, leader of Opposition, Sukhpal Singh Khaira, co-president Aman Arora and deputy leader of Opposition, Sarvjit Kaur Manuke said the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has failed to digest the people’s mandate in Delhi ever since AAP won 67 of 70 Assembly seats.
They said BJP-led Centre government have been trying to prevent the Arvind Kejriwal government from doing works of public interest and rather throw the AAP government out of power. The incident involving the alleged attack on Delhi CS is part of the same conspiracy, AAP leaders alleged.

“The step motherly treatment to a government elected by the people is contempt of the democracy. This attitude of the BJP is a threat to the country as well as the democracy,” Mann said.
Khaira said the whole country is watching the way the Modi government is mistreating the AAP government. “Raids were conducted on Delhi deputy CM’s office. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was sent after the Delhi health minister. Fifteen AAP MLAs were sent to jail,” he said adding that Delhi BJP leaders have been terming Kejriwal as urban naxalite.
Khaira said it’s clear from the CCTV footage that the allegation of AAP MAs beating the CS is false. “Even if we assume that the incident took place, why didn’t the CS go to the police in the night immediately after the alleged incident.
As part of the conspiracy, attack was orchestrated on the AAP leaders inside the Delhi Secretariat the next morning but not a single arrest has been made in this case so far. This shows this whole episode is a conspiracy to bring an end to the AAP and Kejriwal government,” Khaira said.
