Many affected by diarrhoea in Arambagh
A state of panic persists among the villagers of Pandu gram in Madhupur in Arambagh, as from the past few days several people have come down with diarrhoea.
Ensuring nurses to spread their generosity and benevolence in the society, the Alipurduar Nursing Training School on Monday arranged their lamp lighting and capping ceremony in a private hall situated at the Alipurduar hospital more in the town.
According to training school authorities, twenty-five nursing students who will start their practical classes at the Alipurduar district hospital on Tuesday were handed over the candle and were capped the respectable nursing cap on their heads in the programme, on Monday.
“All the 25 nursing students who have recently started their nursing course took a professional oath with a candle in their hand and a nursing cap on their head. They all stood before the ‘Lady with the lamp’ Florence Nightangle. It was a very small but beautiful oath taking programme especially for the fresh group of students’ school,” sources said.

Alipurduar district hospital Super, Chinmay Barman, Alipurduar Deputy Chief Medical Officer-2, Subarna Goswami, Chairman of Alipurduar Municipality, Ashis Dutta, Alipurduar Zilla Parishad ADM, Palden Lepcha and the Nursing superintendent of Alipurduar district hospital, Mousumi Ganguly were present in the oath taking ceremony.
The Alipurduar district hospital Super, Chinmay Barman expressed his gratitude towards the nursing profession and said that it is a noble profession.
Mr Barman said, “The programme has great importance in the lives of the nurses who have already choose to serve the society. It is a motivation for all of us,” “The nurses who took their oath on Monday will start their practical classes at the Alipurduar district hospital from on Tuesday.
We hope they will dedicate their service to the masses in general,” added Mr Barman. All other guests including the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Subarna Goswami, appealed the new nurses to maintain their professional ethics and oath in their service life.
