Afghan delegation visits Himachal Assembly

A delegation of 38 officers of the National Assembly of Afghanistan, as a part of their study tour on Tuesday, met Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr Rajeev Bindal.

During the meeting, Dr Rajeev Bindal thanked the Afganistan officers for choosing Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly for their study tour.

“India and Afghanistan has close ties which cannot be weakened by any of the forces. The ranges from the Himalayas to the Hindukush are bound by a single unique culture. Political boundaries have changed over times, however, we continue to remain two siblings of a single mother, “he said.

Dr Rajeev Bindal gave a detailed information about the functioning of the State Legislative Assembly to the delegation. He also apprised them about the e-legislative assembly that was first established in Himachal Pradesh.

The Afghanistan delegation showed keen interest for continuing to have friendly ties with India. The Afghanistan delegation is currently on the visit to India to know the parliamentary system of the country and had especially selected Himachal Pradesh. The delegation also witnessed the proceedings of the state Assembly.
