Pitching for green, eco-friendly, energy efficient and earthquake resistant buildings, Haryana Chief Minister (CM), Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday called for adopting ultramodern technologies like Prefab Structures, Rainwater Harvesting, Green Rooftop, Solar Energy to create such infrastructure in the country.

The CM was addressing the delegates after inaugurating two-day ‘6th All India Police Housing Conference’ being organized by Haryana Police Housing Corporation (HPHC) in association with Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), New Delhi in Panchkula today.

HPHC is hosting the national conference for the first time which is being attended by Heads of State Police Housing Corporations, Engineers, Architects, technical and other experts. Addressing the delegates, Khattar said that land is limited thus we also need to go towards the concept of high rise buildings to provide modern low cost quality infrastructure to all including police personnel.

The eminence deliberations on various technical and other aspects in today’s conference would go a long way relating to create such infrastructure in the country.

The CM said state government is fully committed to make Haryana police as country’s leading police force. All kind of financial assistance and other resources would be provided to the State Police in this direction.

He said that assistance of Rs 550 crore through HUDCO has been sanctioned for construction of about 3000 houses for police personnel.

He said that present government has also taken several initiatives to realize the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi of Housing for All by the year 2022.

As against the construction target of 38000 houses in rural areas, 18,752 houses have already been sanctioned. Similarly, more than 3.31 lakh houses have been planned for urban areas.

Apart from implementation of Uniform building code, a provision of e-auction of commercial sites, subsidy on solar system and approval of building plan within five-days had been made. In addition, water harvesting system has been made mandatory in large size plots of Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran.

Describing police as the face of the government, the CM said that their performance depicts the behavior and working style of any organization.

He said that a number of decisions have been taken to support and encourage police personnel to deliver better which include a day off in a week, opening of 29 women police stations, enhancement of ex-gratia from Rs10 lakh to Rs 30 lakh. Besides, transparent recruitment process had been adopted in police recruitment.
