Internshala will organise summer internship fairs in five tier-II cities across India for the students pursuing BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, and other similar degrees. The first internship fair will be held in Jaipur on 7th April 2019, followed by Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, and Kochi in the coming months.

The biggest problem that India faces today is unemployability and through this initiative, Internshala aims to help improve the employability of students and spread awareness on the power of internships in building a successful career among the student communities.

The summer internship fairs would offer in-office, part-time, and virtual internships across various profiles like content writing, business development, marketing, social media marketing, and operations. The students from non-technical backgrounds will have to register for each fair online and the top 200 applicants will be interviewed during the offline internship fair in each city.

Apart from this, Internshala will organise various seminars and workshops for the students during the internship fairs. Internshala will also recognise colleges with maximum participating students with a certificate during the fairs.

Sarvesh Agrawal, founder and CEO of Internshala said, “I come from a small town in Nawalgarh, Rajasthan and have closely observed the lack of opportunities students face in our tier-2 cities; due to this, some students often move to tier-I cities while some remain unemployed. There isn’t a lack of talent in these cities but there is a lack of awareness about the opportunities. While the internet penetration has changed this scenario to some extent, the majority of students are unaware.”

He further added,“Often, students from non-technical background write to us about the lack of opportunities available for them. Through the summer internship fairs, we hope to take internships closer to those students and help them understand how internships could help them get ahead in their careers.”
