Body of a woman, identified as Kabita Kaur, was found near a highrise at New Town last night. The police are investigating whether the cause behind the death is murder or suicide. The couple’s unrest or some other factor might be at the root of the incident, a police officer said.
The 10-story apartment, located near Newtown’s Ecospace, was where the deceased lived with her husband. The police were informed late Friday night and a significant police force reached the scene. The body was sent to the district hospital for forensic examination. The police have revealed that the deceased’s husband, Sidhu, is a businessman, but the nature of his business remains unknown. The couple had two daughters, aged sixteen and six. The couple had married almost fifteen years ago.
They were leading a happy life in Newtown, said neighbours. However, disturbances in their relationship surfaced several years ago, and the exact cause of this unrest is unknown. To gather more details, the police are questioning the deceased woman’s husband, Avtar Singh Sidhu.
