Max temperatures in most parts of India likely to be above normal in May: IMD
Rainfall during May 2024, averaged over the country as a whole, is most likely to be normal (91-109% of LPA), the IMD said.
Overnight rain brought the mercury down across Delhi with the city recording a minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, five notches below the season's average.
Heavy showers continued till early morning as the capital recorded 26.4 mm rainfall. Humidity recorded at 8.30 a.m. was 93 per cent.
"The weather condition will be similar throughout the day. Rains will continue. Thunderstorms are also likely," an official at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

"From June 1 till now, there has been a total of 81.8 mm rainfall," he said.
The city had witnessed rains early on Monday morning as well but it was followed by bright sunshine in the afternoon pushing the maximum temperature to 37.4 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature on Tuesday was likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, he said.
The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average and the maximum temperature settled at 37.4 degrees celsius, one notch below the season's average.
